First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study compared two types of non-invasive breathing machines (AVAPS-AE vs. S/T mode) in 14 adults with acute respiratory failure, obesity, and high carbon dioxide levels. The goal was to see which machine more quickly corrected the carbon dioxide levels and reduced breathing pauses during sleep. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
