NCT ID NCT05572359

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether using a cold and compression brace for six weeks after knee replacement surgery helps reduce pain and the need for painkillers. 208 patients who had a total or partial knee replacement were asked to use the brace five times a day for up to 20 minutes. Researchers compared their recovery to patients who received usual care.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a simple, drug-free way to manage pain and improve recovery after knee replacement surgery.
