Old gout drug may tame deadly heart inflammation

Summary
This study tests whether colchicine, a common anti-inflammatory drug, can help people with chronic heart muscle inflammation (inflammatory cardiomyopathy). About 80 adults with this condition will receive either colchicine or a placebo to see if it prevents worsening heart failure, dangerous heart rhythms, or the need for hospitalization. The goal is to control the disease and improve heart function over 6 months.
