Common gout drug could tame deadly heart inflammation

Summary
This study tests whether colchicine, a drug used for gout, can help people with chronic heart muscle inflammation (inflammatory cardiomyopathy). About 80 adults with this condition will receive colchicine or a placebo for 6 months. The goal is to see if the drug reduces heart failure, dangerous heart rhythms, and inflammation without needing lifelong medication.
