Hidden heart condition under the microscope in valve disease patients

NCT ID NCT07170306

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at 143 older adults with severe aortic stenosis (a narrowed heart valve) to see how many also have cardiac amyloidosis (abnormal protein buildup in the heart). Researchers will compare symptoms and outcomes between those with only valve disease and those with both conditions, and check how valve replacement affects protein levels. The goal is to better understand and identify this hidden heart condition.
