Your loyalty card could spot cancer before your doctor does

NCT ID NCT06447064

First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether buying over-the-counter pain relievers and digestive aids can be an early warning sign for ten types of cancer, including pancreatic, colon, and ovarian cancer. Researchers will compare the shopping habits of 2,900 people recently diagnosed with cancer to those without cancer. The goal is to see if changes in what people buy could help catch cancer weeks or months earlier, when treatment works best.
