First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study uses special brain recordings (intracranial electrodes) to map how the brain processes social and emotional information in people with treatment-resistant depression or epilepsy. Researchers aim to understand the brain networks involved in these feelings, which could lead to better treatments for mood and social problems. About 84 adults aged 22-70 will participate while undergoing monitoring for their condition.
