New blood pressure cuff could save moms from unnecessary C-Sections

NCT ID NCT06466161

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a cone-shaped blood pressure cuff placed on the forearm gives more accurate readings than the standard cuff on the upper arm in pregnant women. High blood pressure during pregnancy can lead to serious decisions like early delivery or C-section, so better measurements could help avoid unnecessary treatments. About 110 pregnant women with and without obesity or high blood pressure will participate to see how well the two cuffs agree.
