Summary
This study tests whether berberine, a natural compound, can prevent heart disease and diabetes in people at high risk. Over 2000 participants with prediabetes, obesity, or other risk factors are taking berberine or a placebo for one year. Researchers will check blood sugar and cholesterol levels to see if berberine helps keep them healthy.
