Summary
This study tests whether berberine, a natural compound, can prevent heart disease and diabetes in over 2,000 adults in China who are at high risk. Participants have prediabetes, obesity, and other risk factors. They take berberine or a placebo for a year to see if it improves blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
