New pill shows promise for diabetes and weight loss in early trial

Summary

This study tests a new medication called aleniglipron in adults with type 2 diabetes who are also overweight or obese. The main goal is to see if the drug is safe and tolerable at different doses. Researchers will also check if it helps with weight loss and blood sugar control. About 58 participants will take either the drug or a placebo daily for several weeks.
