AI may spot lung disease in preterm infants weeks early

NCT ID NCT07525167

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether artificial intelligence (AI) can predict a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in premature babies. Researchers will use medical data from the first three weeks of life for 108 infants born before 32 weeks or weighing under 1,500 grams. They will test three AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude) to see how accurately they can predict BPD compared to actual outcomes. The goal is to learn if AI can help doctors identify at-risk babies earlier.
