First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at a recently discovered hormone called 26RFa in 62 women who were obese, some with type 2 diabetes and some without. Researchers measured the hormone levels before and after weight-loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) and compared them to healthy-weight volunteers. The goal was to better understand how 26RFa relates to body weight and blood sugar control.
