New antibody fragments light up tumors in early imaging trial
NCT ID NCT06645808
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing two new antibody fragments that are designed to attach to a sugar molecule found on many solid tumors. The fragments are labeled with a radioactive tracer so they can be seen on PET/CT scans. The study aims to see where these fragments go in the body, how safe they are, and whether they can help spot tumors more clearly. About 32 adults with various solid tumors will take part.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
89Zr-DFO-N-Suc-F8scFv and 89Zr-DFO-N-Suc-C9scFv (radiolabeled antibody fragments)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could pave the way for better imaging and targeted treatments for many solid tumor types.
What could go wrong
This is a very early phase 0 trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The main goal is imaging, not treatment, so direct patient benefit is unlikely.
