Researchers hunt clues to why blood thinners fail some stroke patients

Summary
This study aims to understand why some people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) still have strokes despite taking blood-thinning medication. Researchers will follow 500 patients who have had a stroke and have atrial fibrillation, collecting blood samples and heart ultrasound data. The goal is to identify factors that predict who is at highest risk for another stroke, which could help doctors make better treatment decisions.
