New hope for kids with tough cancers: scientists test re-engineered immune cells

Summary
This study is testing a new type of immunotherapy for children and young adults (up to age 21) whose solid tumors have come back or haven't responded to standard treatments. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells (T cells), modify them in a lab to better target a protein called B7-H3 found on many solid tumors, and then infuse them back into the patient. The main goal of this early-phase trial is to find the safest dose of these modified cells.
