Mayo clinic investigates stubborn belly fat in obesity study

NCT ID NCT06416969

First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study aims to understand why fat tissue in the belly area doesn't respond normally to signals that 'turn on' fat cells in people with obesity. Researchers will measure how fat is released from different parts of the body in 24 adults, comparing those with and without excess belly fat. The goal is to learn more about the biology behind fat storage, not to test a new treatment.
