Shocking news: TENS therapy plus exercise may tame stubborn high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT07383220

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether combining transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) with isometric exercise can improve blood pressure in people with resistant hypertension. Resistant hypertension means blood pressure stays high despite taking three or more medications. The trial will include 50 men and women aged 50-60. One group will receive TENS and exercise plus their usual medication, while the other group gets standard physical therapy and medication. The goal is to see if the combination can reduce blood pressure and improve heart health.
