Ear zap may curb Post-Surgery headaches in aneurysm patients

NCT ID NCT07479082

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear to see if it can prevent or reduce headaches after a brain aneurysm repair procedure. About 440 adults who are scheduled for stent-assisted coiling will wear the device for 30 minutes twice a day, starting the day before surgery and continuing for five days after. Researchers will compare those getting real stimulation to a sham group to measure headache frequency, pain levels, and safety over 90 days.
