Summary

This study uses special brain scans (tau PET) to see how anti-amyloid immunotherapy affects tau protein buildup in people with mild Alzheimer's disease. About 135 participants will get two tau PET scans—one before starting treatment and another 12-18 months after finishing it. The goal is to learn whether clearing amyloid plaques also slows tau spread, which could improve future treatments.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

18F-AV-1451 (a radioactive tracer for tau PET scans)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors understand whether anti-amyloid therapies slow tau spread in the brain, guiding future Alzheimer's treatment.

What could go wrong

This is an observational imaging study, not a treatment trial. It may not show clear changes, and results may not apply to all patients.
