NCT ID NCT07464015
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving free summer day camp vouchers to low-income children with overweight or obesity can help them manage their weight. Eighty children aged 5-11 who are on Medicaid will be randomly assigned to either receive a voucher for an 8-week summer day camp or continue with standard care. Researchers will measure changes in weight, physical activity, sleep, and diet to see if the program is feasible and effective.

- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a low-cost, scalable way to help children from low-income families manage their weight during summer break.
