Heart attack stents face off: which heals better?

NCT ID NCT02890589

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at how well two types of stents (small mesh tubes) placed in heart arteries after a heart attack become covered by the body's own cells. 22 people who had a heart attack were randomly assigned to get either a SYNERGY stent or a bioresorbable scaffold. Doctors used a special camera inside the artery at 3 months to count how many parts of the stent were still uncovered. The goal was to see which device helps the artery heal faster.
