Summary

This study tested a culturally tailored program designed to help African American women manage stress, improve their diet, and increase physical activity. The goal was to see if this approach could lower their risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. 175 women who were overweight or had related risk factors participated in the randomized trial.
