Can a lower dose of steroids still stop sciatica pain?

NCT ID NCT07494136

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether different doses of steroid injections work equally well for treating sciatica (nerve pain in the lower back and leg). About 150 adults with MRI-confirmed lumbar radiculopathy who have not had back surgery will receive one of several doses of either triamcinolone or dexamethasone. The goal is to find out if lower doses can provide the same pain relief and improved function as higher doses.
