Fish oil compound may unclog inflamed arteries in obese patients

NCT ID NCT07038252

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a dietary supplement made from omega-3 fatty acids (called SPM) can reduce blood vessel damage caused by inflammation in people with obesity and high blood pressure. Researchers will give 60 participants either the supplement or a placebo for 12 weeks and measure how well their arteries expand. The goal is to see if boosting the body's natural inflammation-resolution process can lower the leftover heart risk that standard treatments don't fix.
