First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding nitrate-rich beetroot juice to exercise helps people with peripheral artery disease (PAD) walk farther and with less pain. 210 adults aged 50+ with PAD will be assigned to either supervised treadmill or home walking, plus either beetroot juice or a placebo, for 12 weeks.
