Could a common blood pressure drug boost radiation against tough pancreatic tumors?

NCT ID NCT04106856

First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether adding the blood pressure drug losartan to a shorter, stronger course of radiation can help treat pancreatic cancer that is either hard to remove surgically or has spread nearby. Losartan may improve blood flow and oxygen in the tumor, making radiation more effective. About 22 adults with this type of pancreatic cancer will receive the combination after standard chemotherapy, and researchers will monitor side effects closely.
