Summary

This study tested whether adding semaglutide (a GLP-1 drug) to a new weekly insulin called insulin icodec helps lower blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. 148 adults whose blood sugar was not well controlled on daily insulin alone took part. First, everyone received weekly insulin icodec for 26 weeks. Those whose blood sugar remained high then added weekly semaglutide for another 26 weeks. The goal was to see if the combination improved blood sugar levels safely.
