Can a stitch help you feel full after Weight-Loss surgery?
NCT ID NCT05777928
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing how full people feel after two types of weight-loss procedures: sleeve gastrectomy (removing part of the stomach) and a stitch procedure (OverStitch™) for those who regained weight after earlier surgery. Sixty adults will drink water until comfortably full to measure their sense of satiety. The goal is to see if these procedures improve the feeling of fullness, which may help with weight control.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
sleeve gastrectomy and OverStitch™ endoscopic suturing system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors better understand and manage feelings of fullness after weight-loss surgery, potentially improving long-term weight control.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (60 participants) focused on measuring satiety, not on weight loss itself. The results may not apply to all patients or lead to a direct treatment.
