Summary
This study looked at the safety of giving lidocaine through a vein during weight-loss surgery. Fifty adults having laparoscopic bariatric surgery received lidocaine, and their blood levels were measured at several points. The goal was to confirm that using a dose based on adjusted body weight does not cause dangerous side effects like seizures or heart problems.
