First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether roxadustat, a drug for anemia in chronic kidney disease, can also help people with heart failure. Researchers will review medical records of 200 patients who took roxadustat for at least a year. They will check heart function, symptoms, and major events like hospitalizations or death.

roxadustat
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that roxadustat helps manage heart failure and anemia in people with chronic kidney disease, potentially improving their heart function and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, retrospective study that looks back at past data, not a controlled trial. Results may not prove cause and effect, and the drug may not work as hoped in larger, future studies.
