NCT ID NCT06866366
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether a special nutritional drink called Resource Diabet Plus can improve blood sugar and cholesterol levels in people with type 2 diabetes who are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition. Researchers reviewed medical records of 59 patients in Spain who took the supplement for at least 24 weeks. The goal was to see if it helped them achieve better metabolic control in real-world settings.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Resource Diabet Plus (a nutritional supplement)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a simple nutritional supplement helps manage blood sugar and cholesterol in people with type 2 diabetes who are also malnourished.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 59 participants, and it looks back at medical records rather than testing the supplement in a controlled way. Results may not apply to everyone.
