First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether people with type 2 diabetes and early kidney disease can take part in a clinical trial from home. Twelve participants collected their own urine, blood, and blood pressure readings remotely. They took empagliflozin first, and based on their response, some added or switched to finerenone. The goal was to see if remote trials are feasible and how each person responds to these kidney-protecting medications.
