First seen May 13, 2026 ยท Last updated May 13, 2026
Summary
This study compared two sedative drugs, remimazolam and dexmedetomidine, to see which better prevents confusion (delirium) after chest surgery in patients aged 60 and older. Delirium is common after surgery and can slow recovery. The goal was to find a safer option with fewer side effects like low blood pressure. 105 elderly patients participated, and researchers checked for confusion shortly after surgery and for the next three days.
