Summary

This study tests whether practicing deep breathing exercises before surgery can lower the chance of postoperative delirium—a state of confusion and disorientation—in men undergoing robot-assisted prostate removal for prostate cancer. Half of the 50 participants will be taught a simple breathing routine to do daily for about a week before their operation, while the other half receives standard care. Researchers will then monitor all patients for signs of delirium during the first 48 hours after surgery, along with other recovery measures like oxygen levels and hospital stay length.
