Computer alerts may boost life-saving prescriptions for kidney patients

Summary
This study tests whether a simple electronic alert in the medical record system can help doctors prescribe guideline-recommended medications for adults with type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. About 600 patients will be randomly assigned to have their doctor receive an alert or not. The goal is to see if the alert increases use of drugs that protect the heart and kidneys.
