New combo therapy for tough skin cancers shows promise in early trial

NCT ID NCT05085496

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether combining precise radiation (SBRT) with an immunotherapy drug (atezolizumab) is safe and effective for people with advanced skin squamous cell carcinoma that can or cannot be removed by surgery. About 12 participants will receive both treatments to see if the combination helps control the cancer better than either alone. The main goals are to check for side effects and measure how well the cancer responds.
