Stent may prevent deadly complications after aortic tear surgery

NCT ID NCT06044259

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two surgical methods for repairing a torn aorta, a life-threatening emergency. Half of the 72 participants will receive standard surgery, and the other half will also get a special stent designed to reduce the risk of future tears and the need for more operations. The goal is to see if the stent helps the aorta heal better and improves survival.
