Can big data unlock the secrets of a deadly aortic emergency?

This study gathers detailed information from thousands of patients across Nordic countries and the Netherlands who have acute type A aortic dissection, a rare and life-threatening tear in the aorta. Researchers will track patients' health before surgery, the surgical procedure they receive, and their short- and long-term outcomes, including survival and need for further procedures. The goal is to identify risk factors and better surgical strategies to improve survival and reduce complications.
