NCT ID NCT06985901

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests a new procedure called pulsed-field ablation (PFA) to treat persistent atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat that lasts over a week. Sixty adults with this condition will receive PFA to isolate the pulmonary veins, and a small heart monitor will track their heart rhythm for a year. The goal is to see if PFA can prevent AFib episodes better than standard treatments, with fewer side effects.
