Can shedding pounds calm psoriatic arthritis? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07443956
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how weight loss (using tirzepatide) and a biologic drug (ixekizumab) affect the body in people with psoriatic arthritis who are overweight or obese. About 45 adults will receive one or both treatments. Researchers will take samples of skin, joint tissue, and fat at the start and after 12 weeks to see what changes occur. The goal is to understand how these treatments work at the tissue level, not to test if they cure the disease.
