Magic mushroom drug tested for common mental health struggles

NCT ID NCT06442423

Summary

This early-stage study from Yale University is testing whether a single dose of psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' is safe and tolerable for people whose daily lives are impacted by symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, or addiction. The study will enroll 50 adults who have significant difficulty functioning due to these symptoms, even if they have multiple overlapping conditions. Researchers will give participants one 25mg dose and monitor their safety and any changes in symptoms over several weeks.
