New study aims to find gentler radiation for breast cancer Patients' hearts

Summary

This study compares two types of radiation therapy for left-sided breast cancer: proton beam therapy and conventional photon therapy. The goal is to see which one causes fewer changes to the heart, measured by MRI scans. About 60 adults with non-metastatic breast cancer will participate. The results will help doctors choose the safest treatment for the heart.
