Summary
This study tested whether taking a probiotic called Hafnia alvei for 90 days after gastric bypass surgery helps people lose more weight and control their blood sugar better. 49 adults with obesity or type 2 diabetes took either the probiotic or a placebo. Researchers tracked weight, blood sugar, and gut bacteria changes for a year after surgery.
