Summary

This study looked at whether helping obese women lose weight before getting pregnant could improve their health and their baby's health. Researchers compared a very low-energy diet to standard care in 147 women. They measured changes in the mother's metabolism and inflammation, as well as the baby's growth and body fat at birth.
