Wireless patch could catch hidden heart problem after stroke

NCT ID NCT07407790

First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a small, wireless heart sensor patch worn for up to 14 days can find an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) better than the usual 24-48 hour hospital monitor in people who recently had a stroke. About 450 adults who had a stroke or mini-stroke in the last two weeks will be randomly assigned to use the patch or standard care. The goal is to see if the patch helps doctors detect atrial fibrillation faster and start the right treatment sooner.
