Joint surgery may cloud thinking for months, new study shows

Summary

This study looks at how memory and thinking skills change after hip or knee replacement surgery. Researchers will follow 505 adults aged 50 and older to see how many experience mental fogginess (called postoperative cognitive dysfunction) up to 4.5 months after surgery. The goal is to identify who is at risk and help plan better care.
