Simple muscle relaxation technique shows promise for stressed nursing students
NCT ID NCT07038109
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) — a technique where you tense and then relax different muscle groups — could help nursing students feel less depressed, anxious, and stressed. Over 100 students were split into two groups; one group practiced PMR three times a week for four weeks. Researchers measured changes in mood, future outlook, and physical responses to stress.
