First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests a two-step treatment for people with advanced liver disease (cirrhosis) and severe obesity. One group gets a procedure to lower liver pressure (TIPS) followed by weight-loss surgery, while the other gets standard medical care. The goal is to see if the combination improves quality of life and helps with weight loss more than medical management alone.
