Summary
This study looks at how severe obesity can lead to a type of heart failure called HFpEF, where the heart becomes stiff and has trouble filling with blood. Researchers will study 250 people with obesity using heart ultrasounds and blood tests to find early signs of heart problems. They will also check how weight loss from surgery affects the heart over two years. The goal is to better understand the link between obesity and heart failure to improve future prevention and care.
