New blood test could spot hidden heart failure in seniors
NCT ID NCT04699890
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study aimed to create better diagnostic tools for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a type of heart failure that is difficult to diagnose, especially in older adults with conditions like high blood pressure or obesity. Researchers tested a combination of five blood biomarkers in 91 participants to see if they could accurately distinguish HFpEF from other types of heart failure. The goal is to improve diagnosis and help guide future treatments.
