Anti-Inflammatory drug studied for Kids' sudden OCD

NCT ID NCT04015596

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether the anti-inflammatory drug naproxen sodium could reduce obsessive-compulsive symptoms in children with PANDAS, a condition where strep infections trigger sudden OCD. Only 5 children aged 6-15 with new-onset OCD were enrolled before the trial was stopped early. The goal was to see if calming inflammation could ease symptoms, but the small size limits what we can learn.
